Friday, June 19, 1:30pm

Dear Church Family,

2 Corinthians 5:18 says, “All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation.” Our prayer for our church is that we would be obedient to our calling as ministers of reconciliation, that we would proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ and live it out in our lives in a way that honors God and brings glory to His name.

This Sunday, Pastor Luke will continue the series The Gospel: Our Hope for Racial Reconciliation. Please join us at 9AM or 10:45AM on our YouTube Channel, our Facebook page, or at efreedb.org.

As part of our series, we’ve provided opportunities for you to dialogue with leaders of our church and with one another through a weekly Zoom discussion called Hope Talks: A Discussion on Racial Reconciliation and the Gospel. Last Sunday, many of you shared your personal stories of how you’ve been impacted by racism. It was an emotional time, and many tears were shed. It was also a time of healing, as we got to witness the outpouring of compassion and empathy from the family of God. Please consider signing up for one of the two remaining Hope Talks on June 21 and 28, from 11:45AM-12:45PM. We hope to see you there.

If you have a need during this season or would like someone to talk with or share a confidential prayer request, our team is ready to provide assistance. Please let us know.

Once again, thank you for your generosity in supporting the ministries of our church. You can continue to give online or mail your weekly offering to the church at 3255 S Diamond Bar Blvd, Diamond Bar, CA 91765. Your checking account is the preferred method when giving online.

As part of our series, we will provide opportunities for you to dialogue with one another. Pastor Tim will be hosting a weekly Zoom discussion called Hope Talks: A Discussion on Racial Reconciliation and the Gospel from 11:45AM-12:45PM on June 14, 21, and 28. Thursday, May 28, 6:00pm

Dear Church Family,

It’s been a difficult and emotional week for our country. We’ll address that in just a minute. Before we do so, we want to take a moment to update you on our ongoing plans for re-entry onto our church campus. You may recall the four guiding principles that we outlined to you on May 15. Much has changed since that email, but we want to bring you comfort and let you know that those four guiding principles have not changed.

Guiding Principles:

     1. Our church has never closed.
     2. We want to be a good witness to our community.
     3. We’ll gather back on campus when it can be an uplifting and safe experience for everyone.
     4. We will remain flexible.

We believe it’s still not the right time for us to set a date for re-entry onto our campus. Some churches have set dates. Others have not. God may lead various churches around the state and around the country to approach the re-entry process and timeline differently, and that’s okay. We’re on the same team! We’re thankful that the leaders of the EFCA (Evangelical Free Church of America) have provided sound wisdom for our churches. We believe it’s best not to rush back onto our campus too soon. We’ll continue to keep you posted, and we can’t wait to see you in person when the time is right!

This Sunday, Pastor Tim will continue our series Blessed: A Study of the Beatitudeswith a message entitled Peacemakers in a World of Conflict. This will be our seventh beatitude with one more to go the following week. Please join us at 9AM or 10:45AM on our facebook page or at efreedb.org.

When we’re finished with this current series, we will focus our attention on a three-part series starting June 14 called The Gospel: Our Hope for Racial Reconciliation. This series was in the works prior to the events that happened this week, which only goes to show how pertinent this subject matter is for us as followers of Jesus Christ. Our prayer is that God would prepare each of our hearts as we approach this next series.

Ladies, please remember that beginning June 3, our church is hosting a virtual Domestic Kindness Summer Study for all women. We encourage you to sign up for this important class.

If you have a need during this difficult time or would like someone to talk with or share a confidential prayer request, our team is ready to provide assistance. Please let us know.

As always, we thank God for your generosity as you continue to give to support the ministries of our church, especially during these difficult times. You can give online or mail your weekly offering to the church at 3255 S Diamond Bar Blvd, Diamond Bar, CA 91765. Your checking account is the preferred method when giving online.

Thank you!

This Sunday Pastor Luke will continue our series Blessed: A Study of the Beatitudes as he preaches on the sixth beatitude, the pure in heart. Please join us at 9AM or 10:45AM on our facebook page or at efreedb.org.

As we mentioned last week, beginning June 3, our church is hosting a virtual Domestic Kindness Summer Study for women. We encourage the women of our church to sign up for this important class.

If you have a need during this difficult time or would like someone to talk with or share a confidential prayer request, our team is ready to provide assistance. Please let us know.

Friday, May 15, 4:00pm

Dear Church Family,

By now, the topic of “reopening the country” has become a familiar one to us all. As various sectors begin the process of reopening with new guidelines and restrictions, the question might be on your mind, “When will we reopen our church campus?” Rather than offering a specific re-entry date at this time, we believe it’s best to approach this important question by sharing four principles that will guide us as we begin the discussion of re-entry onto our campus.

Guiding Principle 1: Our church has never closed.

Since our first online worship service on March 15, we have witnessed EFree Church in action in a big way! The gospel is being shared. People are coming to Christ. Lives are being touched. Each week, our online worship service gets hundreds upon hundreds of views on our Facebook page, and that doesn’t even include our church website. On Easter Sunday alone, our facebook stream received 1310 views. Praise God! In addition to Sunday worship, our groups (from children to youth to adults) are gathering online throughout the week and staying connected, not only with individuals here in our immediate area, but with those in other parts of the country and the world! And you continue to give generously to support the ministries of our church in these uncertain times. All this to say, our church has never closed!

Guiding Principle 2: We want to be a good witness to our community.

At EFree Church, our desire is to represent Christ in the best way possible to those in our community. We want to “love our neighbors” and have a spirit of cooperation. We want to honor our leaders. Gathering back on campus too soon can potentially hurt our witness and communicate to those in our community that we don’t care about them or that we’re out of touch. As a representative at the EFCA West District says, “There’s no prize for being among the first churches to reopen their doors.”

Guiding Principle 3: We’ll gather back on campus when it can be an uplifting and safe experience for everyone.

Our staff and elders are working hard to ensure that when we eventually make our way back onto our campus, everyone can have an uplifting and safe experience. By now, we all know that social distancing is not easy, and it requires much preparation and cooperation on everyone’s part.

Guiding Principle 4: We will remain flexible.

As our plan of re-entry continues to take shape, we will remain flexible and revisit plans as needed. In this ever-changing season, we can be confident that God never changes and that He is always ready to give us guidance so that we can make wise decisions.

We look forward to seeing you in person when we gather back on campus. In the meantime, we’re excited to worship with you online this Sunday. Please join us at 9AM or 10:45AM on our facebook page or at efreedb.org as we continue our series Blessed: A Study of the Beatitudes. Pastor Tim will share a message entitled Mercy: Explained, Experienced, Extended.

We thank God for your generosity as you continue to give to support the ministries of our church, especially during these difficult times. You can give online or mail your weekly offering to the church at 3255 S Diamond Bar Blvd, Diamond Bar, CA 91765. Your checking account is the preferred method when giving online.

Friday, April 24, 4:00pm

Dear Church Family,

2020 began like any other year for our church. There was great anticipation for the year to come, and we were excited to see how God would work in the life of our church. Back in January, our leaders gathered for our annual Staff & Elders Weekend. One of the central themes for the weekend was the importance of remaining flexible in ministry. Needless to say, we had no idea that in just two short months, our church, like most churches around the world, would be faced with a situation that required flexibility like never before.

On March 15, we held our first online worship service. In a matter of 48 hours, from the initial announcement to the actual service, our amazing team worked tirelessly to make that first online worship experience a reality. Can you believe this coming Sunday will be our seventh online worship service?

One day, we’ll gather back together in our worship center. We don’t know exactly when that’ll be, but God does, and we can take comfort in knowing that truth. In the past month and a half, God has shown His love for our church in so many ways. He has given us opportunities to stay connected through technology. He has stirred the hearts of many in our church to be His hands and feet in the midst of this pandemic. He has shown His provision in times of difficulty through the generosity of His people. The list goes on and on. We have an awesome God! We encourage you to take some time to read the ministry reports from the first quarter of 2020 to see just how awesome He is.

Please join us this Sunday at 9AM or 10:45AM on our facebook page or at efreedb.org as Pastor Luke continues our series Blessed: A Study of the Beatitudes. If you can/need HELP during this COVID-19 pandemic or would like someone to talk with or share a confidential prayer request, please let us know.

God continues to meet the needs of our church through your faithfulness during these difficult times. Our leaders are thankful for such a kind and generous church family! You can continue to give online or mail your weekly offering to the church at 3255 S Diamond Bar Blvd, Diamond Bar, CA 91765. Your checking account is the preferred method when giving online.

Thank you!
